Manila, Philippines – On Thursday night, July 10, 2014, Philippine Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, the 69-year-old Iron Lady of Asia, became avictim of hoax news. A website declared that she is dead and spread it over Facebook. A photo with a slogan “R.I.P. Sen. Miriam Santiago, 1945 – 2014, We Love You” became viral online. It is saddening that many people still believe with this kind of fake scheme in the online world. By liking, sharing, commenting, wrong information are being passed over and over again.
It was on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, during a press conference, when the Senator Miriam opened up to public that she was diagnosed with a STAGE 4 LUNG CANCER but she strongly stated that this is a nonmalignant condition in which a pill that she is taking would be sufficient to combat the cancer cells. By saying this, the news that’s been going around that she’s Already Dead is obviously not true.
